Palghar Livelihood Mission Officer held in bribery sting

Palghar, Aug 11 (UNI) Maharashtra's Anti-Corruption Bureau arrested Division Coordinating Officer Renuka Ranveer Atram red-handed today while allegedly accepting a Rs 10,000 bribe at her Wada tehsil office.
The officer from the Maharashtra Rural Livelihood Mission was apprehended during a sting operation following a complaint filed with Palghar ACB on August 4.
The complainant, a community worker under the state government's Umaid Abhiyan scheme, had approached Atram to release her honorarium cheque of Rs 19,800. According to ACB officials, the coordinator had demanded the bribe on August 4 as payment for processing the cheque issued through the Umaid office in Wada, Palghar district.

According to Khed police, a speeding container which was on way to Mumbai from Goa, plunged into the Jagbudi River.
