Palghar: Blast rocks firecracker manufacturing unit, two workers killed, four injured

Mumbai, Apr 21 (UNI) At least two workers were killed and four others sustained serious injuries after a powerful explosion ripped through a firecracker manufacturing unit in Konsai village of Wada taluka in Palghar district on Tuesday afternoon. The incident occurred at a unit that had recently commenced operations and was employing daily wage labourers for production work.
The deceased have been identified as Bhavesh Dilip Vavre from Jamghar and Monika Sachin Padwale from Palasai. Officials confirmed that four other workers suffered severe injuries and were rushed to Wada Rural Hospital, where they are currently undergoing treatment. Their condition is reported to be critical.
According to preliminary information, the unit had started functioning on April 10, and more than 30 workers were present at the site when the explosion took place. The blast triggered panic in the area, with local authorities and emergency teams rushing to the spot to carry out rescue operations.
