Palamu man kills ex-colleague with drug injection, arrested

Palamu, July 11 (UNI) The Palamu Police claim to have solved a murder case with the arrest of 27-year-old Tabrez Alam, who allegedly killed his former colleague by injecting a sedative and strangling him before dumping the body in a canal. The body of Tabish Ansari was recovered on July 8 from a canal in Japla Dharhara under Hussainabad police station. A case was registered the same day under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
Investigation led by SDPO S. Mo. Yakub revealed that the accused held a grudge against the victim over a job loss and pending dues. On July 6, Tabrez allegedly administered a ketamine injection to Tabish, rendering him unconscious, and then killed him using a cloth strip.
The accused later returned the victim’s phone to his family, which aroused suspicion. Based on technical inputs and evidence, the police traced and arrested him. He was found in possession of an empty ketamine vial, syringe wrapper, and two mobile phones. The accused has been produced before court.
