Pahalgam Attack: Jammu CCI, BAJ call for shutdown on Wednesday, JKYC seeks resignation of HM

Jammu, Apr 22 (UNI) In the aftermath of terrorist attack on tourists in Pahalgam, the Jammu Chamber of Commerce and Industries (JCCI) and Bar Association of Jammu (BAJ) have given a one-day shutdown call in Jammu for Wednesday.
JCCI president Arun Gupta confirmed to UNI that the traders' body has given a call for Jammu 'bandh' tomorrow (Wednesday).
Meanwhile Jammu and Kashmir High Court Bar Association, Jammu in a statement issued here has condemned the brutal terrorist attack.
This inhumane and senseless act of violence, targeting innocent civilians, is a stark reminder of the continued threat posed by those who seek to disrupt peace and harmony in the region, the BAJ said.
“Jammu and Kashmir High Court Bar Association Jammu reaffirms its unwavering commitment to the rule of law and the protection of fundamental human rights. We urge all citizens to stand together in the face of terror and uphold the values that bind us as a nation,” the members said and added, “in view of the barbaric attack, we have decided to call for complete Jammu Bandh tomorrow on April 23).
The Bar Association further requests all the organisations of Jammu Civil Society to join them to hold a joint protest, it read.
However, the Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee has also given a call for Jammu Bandh tomorrow in protest against the gruesome and cowardly terrorist attack on tourists.
JKPCC Chief Spokesperson Ravinder Sharma has appealed to the people to observe a complete peaceful Jammu bandh tomorrow to send a strong and united message against terrorism.
“The killing of innocents and the terrorism on our soil is not tolerable. To send a strong message and to express solidarity with the victims of the attack and their families, a complete bandh should be observed,” he appealed.
Jammu and Kashmir Youth Congress also held a Candle March organised by its General Secretary Anirudh Sawhney over the killings of civilians in a terror attack.
Yogesh Sawhney, ex-MLA Jammu East and senior Congress leader, and Maan Singh, IYC Secretary in-charge J&K, also joined the protest march.
They condemned the Centre for another major lapse in security and increasing civilian killings in terror incidents and demanded immediate resignation of Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
