Over 800 arrested in crackdown against child marriage in Assam

Guwahati, Oct 3 ( UNI) Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said on Tuesday that more than 800 accused persons have been arrested in a massive crackdown against child marriage in Assam.
The number of arrests is likely to rise, he said.
"In a massive crackdown against child marriage , Assam Police has arrested over 800 accused persons in a special operation which began in the early hours of dawn," CM posted on X ( formerly Twitter).
