Over 32 lakh Jharkhand women driving entrepreneurship through self-help groups: Minister

Ranchi, June 13 (UNI): Jharkhand Rural Development, Rural Works and Panchayati Raj Minister Dipika Pandey Singh on Friday said more than 32 lakh women associated with the Jharkhand State Livelihood Promotion Society (JSLPS) are scripting new success stories through self-employment and entrepreneurship initiatives.
Addressing the pre-launch ceremony of the "Parampara" exhibition and the "Apnon Ki Udaan" programme organised by Marwari Sahayak Samiti here, she said women today are making significant contributions in education, healthcare, innovation and business, strengthening the country's social and economic fabric.
The minister said women linked to self-help groups in Jharkhand are successfully marketing their products beyond the state and country. Referring to the Birsa Harit Gram Yojana, she said mangoes produced in Jharkhand are reaching national and international markets, while products made by women entrepreneurs have recently found markets in Dubai and London.
