Over 2.1 lakh benefit from fotnight-long Pt Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Antyodaya Sambal drive: Sharma

Jaipur, July 11 (UNI) Senior citizens Patoli Devi (85) and Jagdish (70) of Dhanora village in Dholpur district who were in legal fight for past 30 years, resolved their disputes within minutes in the revenue camp organised under the fortnight-long Pt Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Antyodaya Sambal Pakhwada in Rajasthan between June 24 and July nine.
Likewise, Gangaram of Khumansar village of Jaisalmer, who was entangled in the Khatedari rights dispute, Koyali Devi of Bhilwara, seeking passage to her agri field and denizens of a village under Rawala tehsil (Sriganganagar) demanding opening of closed public passage, are among more than 2.1 lakh beneficiaries whose land revenue litigations were resolved on the spot at camps held in their respective villages or districts.
These are glimpses of cases at the fortnight-long campaign of the land revenue department, which was meant to solve on the spot, all the problems or issues mostly of BPL (below poverty line) families or people of otherwise weaker sections.

Panchkula, Jun 12 (UNI) Widespread thunderstorms, gusty winds and rain brought much-needed relief from the scorching heat across Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and Chandigarh on Friday, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasting further rainfall activity over the region during the next few days.
According to the Regional Meteorological Centre, New Delhi, rain and thundershowers occurred at most places across Punjab, Haryana and Delhi during the past 24 hours, while thunderstorms were reported from several locations.

Severe thunderstorm, hail alert for parts of Punjab and Haryana; Winds up to 80 kmph likely

Chandigarh, Jun 12 (UNI) The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a nowcast warning for severe thunderstorms, lightning and hailstorms in several districts of Punjab and Haryana, cautioning residents about strong winds reaching speeds of 60 to 80 kmph during the next few hours.
According to the IMD Chandigarh Centre, severe thunderstorm activity accompanied by lightning and hail is very likely over parts of Mansa, Sangrur, Barnala, Patiala, Bathinda, Fazilka and Sri Muktsar Sahib districts of Punjab.
