Onco surgeons at SUM Hospital perform a rare surgery on a lung cancer patient

Bhubaneswar, Mar 18 (UNI) Onco surgeons at the Institute of Medical Sciences and SUM Hospital, Bhubaneswar, have successfully conducted a rare and complex surgery to remove a cancer-affected portion of the lung in a 45-year-old woman.
The patient, who had been experiencing persistent symptoms and coughing up blood, was initially misdiagnosed with tuberculosis at another hospital.
Seeking further treatment, she approached the IMS and SUM Hospital, where she was evaluated by the Department of Pulmonary Medicine under Prof. (Dr.) Banani Jena and Prof. (Dr.) Rakhi Ludum.

Cuttack, Jan 23 (UNI) On the 129th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi emphasized the need to acknowledge Bose’s immense contribution to India’s independence, which is often underrepresented in history books.
Speaking at the Parakram Diwas celebrations at Netaji’s birthplace in Odia Bazar, Cuttack, the Chief Minister said that while both, Mahatma Gandhi-led movements and Netaji’s efforts, were unparalleled, the latter has not received its due recognition.
