Omar to stake claim for government formation shortly

Srinagar, Oct 11 (UNI) National Conference Vice President Omar Abdullah is scheduled to meet Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha shortly to stake a claim for forming the government in Jammu & Kashmir.

Senior NC leader Nasir Wani said the party Legislature Party Leader (LPL) will be meeting LG in some time to stake claim and fix a date for the oath ceremony.

“ We have received the support from the Congress party and Omar (sahib) will meet the LG and stake a claim for forming the government,” he said.

On Thursday, Omar Abdullah was unanimously elected as LPL by the NC legislators.
The NC swept the Assembly polls in J&K and emerged as the single largest party with 42 seats. The party has a comfortable majority in the 95-member House. Its alliance partners Congress and CPI(M) won six seats and one seat respectively. Four Independents have already supported the NC.
