Odisha partners with IIT Bhubaneswar to strengthen rural women-led enterprises

Bhubaneswar, Jun 8 (UNI) In a significant initiative aimed at fostering rural entrepreneurship and women's economic empowerment, the Odisha government on Monday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with IIT Bhubaneswar to provide incubation and business development support to women-led rural enterprises across the state.
The partnership, forged under the National Rural Livelihoods Mission (NRLM) through the Start-up Village Entrepreneurship Programme (SVEP), seeks to nurture growth-oriented rural enterprises and create a robust entrepreneurial ecosystem in Odisha.
The MoU was exchanged between the Odisha Livelihoods Mission (OLM) and IIT Bhubaneswar at Mission Shakti Bhawan in the presence of Deputy Chief Minister and Minister of Women & Child Development, Mission Shakti and Tourism, Pravati Parida.

Bengal: Six-year-old raped for more than a year; Cousin arrested

Kolkata, Jul 10 (UNI) A 27-year-old man working as a sales executive in a private company has been arrested for allegedly raping his six-year-old cousin for over a year.
The police identified the man as Rajib Biswas.
The girl was taken to the RG Kar Medical College and Hospital on Thursday after she complained of pain and discomfort in her private parts to her parents, police sources said.
