Odisha launches ‘Safe Tourist Campaign’ to bolster safety at beaches, tourist destinations

Bhubaneswar, July 15 (UNI) In a major push to strengthen tourist safety and position Odisha as a secure and responsible travel destination, the state government on Wednesday launched the ‘Safe Tourist Campaign’ in Puri.
The initiative, rolled out in collaboration with Odisha Fire and Emergency Services and the National Institute of Water Sports (NIWS), aims to build a robust safety and emergency response network across beaches, tourist destinations and water bodies in the state.
Deputy Chief Minister and Tourism Minister Pravati Parida formally presented government licences to professionally trained lifeguards who have completed intensive lifesaving training in accordance with international standards.

NIA Arrests Accused in killing two kids in Manipur

Imphal, Aug 12 (UNI) The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested one accused in connection with the improvised explosive device (IED) attack at a residential house in Tronglaobi Awang Leikai, Moirang, in Manipur’s Bishnupur district, in which two minor children were killed and another person was injured. The two children belonging to the family of a Meitei security personnel had died in the attack while the mother was grievously injured.
