Odisha: Elderly woman mauled to death by stray dog

Balasore, Nov 14 (UNI) In a tragic and unusual incident, an elderly woman was reportedly mauled to death by a stray dog at Narayanpur village under the jurisdiction of Bhograi police station in Odisha's Balasore district on Thursday.
The deceased has been identified as 68-year-old Basanti Sahu. A pall of gloom descended on the community following the unfortunate incident.
According to reports, the woman was sitting alone outside her house when the stray dog suddenly entered and attacked her aggressively. Her family members had gone to a nearby temple to offer prayers for the five-day Panchuka rituals of the Kartik month.
