Odisha: DyCM Parida calls for awareness campaigns in villages to curb human trafficking

Puri, Feb 12 (UNI) Odisha Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida on Wednesday emphasized the need for awareness campaigns at the rural level, particularly in remote villages, by involving Anganwadi workers, school teachers, and families to curb human trafficking.
Addressing an awareness meeting on human trafficking here, Ms Parida stated that most human trafficking cases are orchestrated by unscrupulous individuals using railway transport.
She remarked that keeping the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Government Railway Police (GRP) alert is not sufficient; awareness must be raised at the grassroots level by engaging local stakeholders, including Anganwadi workers, school teachers, and families.
