Odisha DGP suspends five police personnel for assaulting Army major, his girlfriend

Bhubaneswar, Sep 18 (UNI) Odisha DGP Y B Khurania on Wednesday suspended five police personnel, including the Inspector Incharge (IIC) of the Bharatpur police station, in connection with the alleged assault of an Army Major Gurvansh Singh and his girlfriend inside the Bharatpur police station on Sunday last.
A notification issued by the police department said the police personnel were placed under suspension on charges of gross misconduct.
The five police personnel who were suspended included the Bharatpur Police Station IIC Dinakrushna Mishra, SI Baisalini Panda, ASI Salilamayee Sahoo, ASI Sagarika Rath, and Constable Balaram Handa.
