Odisha charts ambitious aviation roadmap, reviews key projects

Bhubaneswar, Dec 6 (UNI) The High Power Committee on Aviation, chaired by Odisha Chief Secretary, Manoj Ahuja convened on Saturday to advance the State's long-term vision of developing 15 fully operational airports by 2047, a transformative goal aimed at strengthening Odisha's regional, domestic, and international air connectivity.
In its 4th meeting, the Committee aligned its discussions with the Vision of Vikshit Odisha 2036–47, reviewing emerging opportunities in the aviation sector and exploring strategies to accelerate infrastructure growth, improve connectivity, and foster a supportive policy ecosystem.
A major highlight was the emphasis on creating a dedicated policy for promoting Flight Training Organisations (FTOs) in the State, aimed at building a robust talent pipeline for the aviation industry.

Meghalaya names squad for Senior Women's One Day Trophy 2025-26

Shillong, Jan 21 (UNI): A 15-member squad was named on Wednesday by the Meghalaya Cricket Association's senior women's selection committee for the BCCI's Senior Women One Day Trophy 2025-26 plate group, which will be held in Febuary.
The team will be captained by stalwart Debasmita Dutta, with Monica Lyngdoh Phawa as the vice-captain.

Odisha CM urges farmers to embrace fish farming and animal husbandry for self-reliance

Bhubaneswar, Jan 21 (UNI) Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Wednesday urged farmers to diversify their income by engaging in fish farming, cattle rearing, and animal husbandry alongside traditional agriculture.
Speaking at the inauguration of the three-day Fisheries and Animal Husbandry Conclave, Odisha-2026, Majhi emphasized the state government’s determination to make Odisha self-reliant in fish, meat, chicken, and eggs.
