Odisha: CBI nabs EPFO official for accepting bribe of Rs 10,000

Bhubaneswar, June 14 (UNI) The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has apprehended a Senior Social Security Assistant of the EPFO Regional Office, Berhampur, for accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000.
CBI sources said on Saturday that a case was registered by the agency on June 12 against the EPFO official based on a complaint. The complainant alleged that the accused had demanded a bribe of Rs 10,000 to approve the Authorised Signatory application of a private employer on the EPFO portal.
Following negotiations, the accused official agreed to accept the bribe amount.
