Odisha Cabinet approves 11.25 percent reservation for SEBC students in Higher Secondary and Higher Education

Bhubaneswar, May 14 (UNI) In a landmark decision, the Odisha Cabinet on Wednesday approved the introduction of 11.25 percent reservation in admissions for students belonging to the Socially and Economically Backward Classes (SEBC) in the state.
Briefing the media after the Cabinet meeting, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced that SEBC students will be entitled to 11.25 percent reservation in admissions to State Public Universities, State Government and Aided Higher Secondary and Higher Education institutions.
This applies under the School & Mass Education Department, Higher Education Department, Odia Language, Literature & Culture Department, and Sports & Youth Services Department, beginning with the academic year 2025–26.
