Odisha: Burn victim airlifted from Bhubaneswar to AIIMS-Delhi for advanced medical treatment

Bhubanwshwar, July 20 (UNI) The 15-year-old girl from Odisha’s Puri district, who sustained around 75% burn injuries after being set ablaze by unidentified miscreants on Saturday, was airlifted to AIIMS, New Delhi from Bhubaneswar on Sunday to provide advanced medical treatment to the victim still battling for life.
The minor girl, with 75% burns, was stable and was in the oxygen support system at the Intensive Care Unit of AIIMS-Bhubaneswar. As it was found that it was a fit case for airlifting, the victim was evacuated in a special flight, said AIIMS-Bhubaneswar officials here.
The team of experts monitoring the health of the victim was of the view that medical facilities available at AIIMS-Delhi were much better than those available in Bhubaneswar. That’s why experts suggested the airlifting of the victim, they said.
