Odisha: 21 prisoners during Emergency receive monthly pension of Rs 20,000 in first phase: CM

Bhubanewar, Mar 26 (UNI) About, twenty-one persons who were arrested under the MISA, DIR and DISIR Acts during the Emergency from June 25 ,1975 to March 21,1977 have been given a monthly pension of Rs.20,000 from January, 2025, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced in the State Assembly on Wednesday.
Making a statement in the house, Majhi said the state level committee has recommended it and the state government has already approved it.
He said on the last Independence Day, it was announced that the government would provide a monthly pension to the prisoners arrested under the MISA, DIR and DISIR Acts during the Emergency from 25th June 1975 to 21st March 1977.
