OBCs should fight polls to save quota: Ambedkar

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Aug 8 (UNI) Vanchit Bahujan Agadhi (VBA) Chief Prakash Ambedkar has said Other Backward Classes’ reservation is being sacrificed in the feud between Saramjami Marathas and Rayat Marathas and reservation of OBCs can be saved only if members of the backward communities contest and vote in Assembly elections in large numbers, a party leader said on Thursday.
“Reservation of OBCs will be saved only if 100 MLAs from OBCs and 50 MLAs from Scheduled Castes and Tribes are elected in Assembly elections,” Ambedkar said while addressing a gathering here on Wednesday.
The event was organised on the occasion of his 'OBC Aarakshan Bachav' Yatra concluding at Aamkhas Maidan after travelling across the state from July 25.
