OBC quota anxiety claims another life in Maharashtra, second suicide in four days

Beed (Maharashtra), Sep 14 (UNI) A 50-year-old farmer from Maharashtra's Beed district committed suicide, becoming the second person to take his life in four days over anxieties concerning the Other Backward Classes (OBC) reservation, an official confirmed.
The incident highlights the deepening crisis surrounding the state government's implementation of the Hyderabad Gazette for Maratha reservations.
The deceased, Gorakh Narayan Devadkar from Nathapur village, ended his life on Friday night. A suicide note was recovered in which he expressed profound anguish over the state government's handling of reservation for the Maratha community. He specifically mentioned his worry for his daughter's future, as she is currently preparing for police recruitment examinations.
