O2 shortage: UP CM instructs officials to ensure oxygen is supplied on prescribed rates

Lucknow, Sep 14 (UNI) Amid the controversy of scarcity of oxygen in hospitals leading to hike in prices of oxygen cylinders, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that oxygen plants should supply the oxygen in the prescribed rate and there should not be any shortage of oxygen cylinders.
“The officials should take stringent action against black marketing of oxygen. There should be no shortage of oxygen in any of the hospitals and medical colleges should get oxygen on the prescribed rates,” Chief Minister said while presiding over a high-level unlock review meeting here on Monday.
He said the Drug Controller should ensure proper supply of medicines and oxygen in the hospitals and send the report to the Chief Minister Office on a daily basis.

According to police data, more than 4,000 people have lost their lives in traffic mishaps between January and October this year, five times higher than deaths from violent crimes.
