NSCN (K-YA) cadre arrested in Arunachal

Itanagar, June 13 (UNI) In a significant breakthrough against insurgent activities, an intelligence-led operation jointly conducted by the Assam Rifles and Arunachal Pradesh Police resulted in the arrest of a key NSCN (K-YA) member in Old Kothung village in Arunachal Pradesh’s Tirap district.
The arrest was made on the intervening night of Monday-Tuesday, Tirap district Superintendent of Police (SP) Singjatla Singpho said on Friday.
The arrested individual has been identified as self-styled (SS) captain Kamwang Chakhtey. He has been associated with the banned outfit since 1995, the SP said.
