Northern Railway awards Rs 1 Cr insurance to family of deceased staff

New Delhi, June 20 (UNI) In a major employee welfare initiative, the Northern Railway on Friday provided a Rs one crore insurance payout to the family of a deceased employee, a loco pilot, as part of a special salary package.

This is probably the highest-ever insurance payout in the history of Indian Railways. General Manager (Northern Railways), Ashok Kumar Verma said this special salary package, approved early this year, aims to financially support families of employees who die due to accidents while in service.
