Lucknow, Apr 9 (UNI) As Uttar Pradesh expands its focus from marquee religious hubs like Ayodhya to ‘Alpgyat’ spiritual sites, the nearly 200-year-old Reteshwar Mahadev Dham in Lucknow is undergoing a ₹93.43 lakh upgrade, with around 60% of the work already completed.
Located along the Sai river in Sarojini Nagar, the temple is part of the state’s push to bring ‘Alpa-Gyaat’ religious sites into the tourism fold while improving basic infrastructure for devotees.
State Tourism and Culture Minister Jaiveer Singh said, “Uttar Pradesh is home to many ancient temples that hold deep spiritual and cultural significance for local communities. Our government is committed to preserving these places of faith and making them more accessible and comfortable for devotees. Through the development of sites like Reteshwar Mahadev Dham, we are strengthening the spiritual landscape of the state while also encouraging religious tourism.”
