Lucknow, Dec 10 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Navdeep Rinwa on Wednesday disclosed that the Election Commission of India (ECI) has been requested to extend the time by two weeks to complete the process of Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in the state in a systematic manner.
The deadline to complete the submission of enumeration forms of SIR ends tomorrow (Thursday), but still in UP around 18.85 % of voters are yet to respond. There are a total of 15.44 crore voters in UP.
In a statement, the CEO said that the digitization work of 99.24 percent enumeration forms has been completed in the state.

Shimla, Jan 22 (UNI) A devastating fire broke out late Wednesday night at the Ban Devta temple in Malkhoon village under Bashla Gram Panchayat of Rohru subdivision in Shimla district, destroying the centuries-old shrine.
The temple, known for its traditional wooden carvings and deep religious significance, was reduced to ashes. Preliminary reports suggest that the fire originated from a nearby forest fire.

CCTV traps fully grown leopard inside residential house in Shimla

Shimla, Jan 22 (UNI) A fully grown leopard was caught on CCTV entering a residential house in Navbahar on the outskirts of Shimla late Wednesday night, triggering panic among residents and once again highlighting the growing threat of human–wildlife conflict in the state capital.
According to CCTV footage that has surfaced, the leopard entered the residential building at around 11:23 pm on January 21. The visuals show the animal calmly climbing the staircase and reaching the second floor of the house.
