World Tourism Day: UP tourism records 7.25-fold rise in 9 years

Lucknow, Sep 26 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh has witnessed a major expansion in tourism over the past nine years, with tourist arrivals rising from 21.5 crore in 2016 to more than 156 crore in 2025, marking a nearly 7.25-fold increase. During the same period, the state's tourism budget increased by nearly 20 times, reflecting the government's continued focus on strengthening the sector.
