Railway Board raises rent for staff quarters; revised rates effective from July 1

New Delhi, Sept 28 (UNI) The Railway Board has raised the licence fee, or standard rent, for residential quarters across Indian Railways, with employees occupying larger Type-V accommodation now required to pay as much as Rs 5,860 a month, according to an official order. The Ministry of Railways, in an order, said the revised rates would take effect retrospectively from July 1, 2026. The licence fee was last revised with effect from July 1, 2023.
