Punjab Vigilance Bureau arrests railway engineer for allegedly taking Rs 40,000 bribe

Chandigarh, Oct 8 (UNI) The Punjab Vigilance Bureau on Thursday arrested a Northern Railway senior section engineer for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 40,000 to implement a court order directing deductions from an employee's salary. The accused, identified as Pankaj Bhardwaj, was arrested following a complaint from Hardeep Singh, a resident of Ferozepur. According to the bureau, the complainant had obtained a court order directing the railway authorities to deduct one-third of employee Amit Kumar's salary towards repayment of a personal loan.
