Chandigarh, Oct 7 (UNI) Paddy arrivals in Punjab's grain markets have reached 8.50 lakh metric tonnes, of which 7.50 lakh metric tonnes have been procured by government agencies, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister Lal Chand Kataruchak said on Wednesday. Reviewing procurement arrangements at the Jagraon grain market in Ludhiana district, Kataruchak said Punjab had fixed a procurement target of 180 lakh metric tonnes for the 2026-27 season, and paddy was being purchased at Rs 2,461 per quintal.
