Section 163 restrictions withdrawn in Nahan as law and order situation improves

Nahan, Oct 29 (UNI) The Sirmaur district administration has withdrawn prohibitory orders imposed under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023, in Nahan with immediate effect, following an improvement in the law and order situation around Valmiki Chowk. According to Sirmaur Superintendent of Police (SP) NS Negi, the prohibitory orders were imposed by the District Magistrate on October 26, following a clash and stone-pelting incident involving members of the Valmiki and Sikh communities at Valmiki Chowk on October 23, 2026, amid concerns over a possible breach of peace.
