IMD warns of very heavy rain in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka; wet spell to continue in southern states

Panchkula, Oct 17 (UNI) The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Saturday warned of heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and south interior Karnataka, with widespread showers and thunderstorms likely to continue across several southern states over the next six to seven days. In its weather bulletin issued at 8.34 am on Saturday, the IMD forecast isolated very heavy rainfall over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal from October 17 to 20 and over south interior Karnataka on October 17.
