Himachal govt extends Rs 17.09 cr welfare assistance to 2,263 defence beneficiaries

Shimla, September 27 (UNI) The Himachal Pradesh government has provided financial assistance and grants amounting to Rs 17.09 crore to 2,263 beneficiaries during 2025-26 under various welfare schemes for ex-servicemen, war widows, dependents of defence personnel and gallantry award winners, the government said on Sunday. The assistance was extended through the Sainik Welfare Department as part of measures aimed at providing social security, rehabilitation support and financial assistance to serving and retired Armed Forces personnel and their families.
