Strict Action Against Ultrasound Centres Violating PC-PNDT Act: Vikram Katoch

Dharamshala, Oct 12 (UNI) District Health Officer Vikram Katoch on Monday warned of strict legal action against ultrasound centres violating the provisions of the Pre-Conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques (PC-PNDT) Act, 1994, and stressed the need for public participation to prevent foetal sex determination and female foeticide. Chairing a meeting of the District Advisory Committee and District Appropriate Authority in Dharamshala, Katoch said 19 inspections were conducted across Kangra district during the second quarter ending September 30, while three ultrasound centres completed their renewal process.
