Himachal: Tanda Medical College performs complex open-heart surgery, patient recovers

Kangra, Oct 17 (UNI) The Department of Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery at Dr Rajendra Prasad Government Medical College (DRPGMC), Tanda, has successfully performed a complex open-heart surgery on a patient suffering from a severely diseased bicuspid aortic valve and a dilated ascending aorta. The procedure involved replacing the diseased aortic valve with a prosthetic valve and the dilated ascending aorta with a prosthetic graft, using a heart-lung machine.
