Haryana SIR: 3.43 lakh hearing cases pending, EC orders special camps to speed up disposal

Panchkula, Oct 7 (UNI) Haryana has 3,43,127 notice-related hearing cases pending under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, prompting the Election Commission to order special camps and door-to-door surveys to expedite disposal and collect documents from voters who have yet to complete the process.
According to the latest district-wise review, 44,91,923 notices have been generated across Haryana, while the 3,43,127 pending hearing cases account for 7.64 per cent of the total. The latest figures also indicate a substantial reduction in the backlog. On October 1, the authorities had reported 4,34,975 pending hearings out of 44,91,691 notices.

Officials will collect the necessary documents from such electors during the three-day exercise to facilitate completion of their cases.
The Commission has also asked voters who have received notices to appear for their hearings on the scheduled date and submit the prescribed documents within the stipulated period.
