Haryana: Rs 1.56 crore cash recovered from car in Hansi; Income tax probe sought

Panchkula, Oct 8 (UNI) Haryana Police recovered Rs 1.56 crore in cash from a car intercepted during a midnight checking operation in Hansi, after its three occupants failed to explain the source of the money or produce supporting documents, officials said on Thursday. The cash, totalling Rs 1,56,49,500, was found in two bags inside a white car stopped on Jind Road on the intervening night of October 7 and 8. Police have referred the matter to the Income Tax Investigation Directorate, Rohtak, for verification of the money's source.
