Panchkula, Sep 23 (UNI) The Haryana government has included the revised Sarai Kale Khan-Gurugram-Bawal Namo Bharat RRTS Corridor in its Transit Oriented Development (TOD) policy, replacing the previous alignment that extended to Shahjanpur, Neemrana, and Behror.
The Town and Country Planning Department notified the amendment on September 22, making the revised alignment effective immediately after state government approval based on the Haryana Mass Rapid Transport Corporation (HMRTC) recommendation.
The earlier Sarai Kale Khan-Gurugram-Rewari-Shahjahanpur-Neemrana-Behror (SNB) RRTS Corridor has been included at Serial No. 9 in the TOD policy through an amendment issued on October 4, 2021.
The new notification revises the alignment with changes in Gurugram, shortens it to Bawal, and renames it the Sarai Kale Khan-Gurugram-Bawal Namo Bharat RRTS Corridor.
The Haryana government approved the revised alignment for inclusion in the TOD policy, based on HMRTC's recommendation, replacing the previous alignment. The revised alignment now replaces the previous entry at Serial No. 9 in the annexure to the state's TOD policy, effective immediately.
Haryana first notified its TOD policy on February 9, 2016. The policy identifies MRTS corridors eligible for TOD zone development and allows new alignments after state government approval based on HMRTC's recommendation.
The latest amendment incorporates the revised Gurugram-Bawal alignment into Haryana's TOD planning framework, replacing the configuration recognised in the 2021 amendment.
The Haryana notification was issued by Anurag Agarwal, Additional Chief Secretary, Town and Country Planning Department.
