Rising e-waste alongside digital growth is a new environmental challenge: Dr Rajeshwar Singh

Lucknow, Oct 6 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh BJP MLA Dr Rajeshwar Singh said that for a rapidly digitalising country like India, e-waste management is no longer just an environmental issue, but also a matter of public health, resource conservation and the future economy. He said the digital revolution has transformed lives, but it has also created a rapidly growing e-waste challenge. According to the Global E-waste Monitor 2024, the world generated a record 62 million tonnes of e-waste in 2022, with only 22.3% formally collected and recycled.
