No immediate threat from glacier lake in Kangra, says DC after 14-km trek

Kangra, Sep 28 (UNI) A joint team of the Kangra district administration and District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) inspected a high-altitude glacier lake at Dainsar in the remote Poling area of Multhan tehsil of Baijnath subdivision and found no immediate threat from the lake under the present conditions. Deputy Commissioner Hemraj Bairwa and Baijnath SDM Sankalp Gautam led the 22-member team on a challenging 14-km trek through rugged terrain to assess the lake, its surroundings, drainage channels, possible outflow routes and downstream risk areas.
