UP shines in PM Surya Ghar Yojana, 74,796 rooftop solar plants installed in Sep

Lucknow, Oct 2 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh has ranked first in the country in September 2026 in rooftop solar installations under the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar: Free Electricity Scheme. According to officials in September, 74,796 rooftop solar plants were installed in the state. Andhra Pradesh, with 69,813, and Maharashtra, with 60,907 installations, ranked second and third, respectively. Gujarat recorded 45,616 rooftop solar installations, and Kerala, with 30,315. Thus, Uttar Pradesh topped the monthly installations for September. In September, Uttar Pradesh installed an average of 2,493 rooftop solar plants daily.
