Charkhi Dadri, Oct 23 (UNI) Sub-Divisional Magistrate Dr Virendra Singh on Friday ordered tighter checks on illegal mining and mineral transportation after a district review meeting was informed that authorities had seized 52 vehicles and imposed penalties totalling Rs 32.29 lakh this year. FIRs have also been registered in cases involving seven vehicles, Mining Department official Anil Kumar told the District Mining Committee meeting at the Mini Secretariat. Chairing the review, Singh directed officials to seize vehicles found involved in illegal mining activities, issue challans and initiate appropriate action against their owners.
