Panchkula, Oct 6 (UNI) Haryana Police have intensified their crackdown on drug trafficking in Hisar, registering 25 cases under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act and arresting 40 accused in the past one month, including three cases involving commercial quantities of narcotics, an official said on Tuesday.
According to the Haryana Police official, the sustained operation led to the seizure of 1.509 kg of opium, 119.4 kg of ganja, 250 grams of heroin/chitta, 320 grams of sulfa, and 11,700 tablets of alprazolam. The action was carried out under the direction of Hisar Superintendent of Police Siddhant Jain, as part of intensified efforts to disrupt the supply and distribution networks operating in the district.
The police said the crackdown is focused not only on apprehending street-level drug dealers but also on identifying the sources of narcotics and tracing the wider networks involved in their supply. Teams have been maintaining surveillance in vulnerable areas, checking for suspicious activity and conducting raids based on intelligence inputs, the official said.
Moreover, of the 25 cases registered during the month, three involved commercial quantities of narcotic substances, highlighting the scale of the enforcement operation. The recoveries included a substantial quantity of ganja along with opium, heroin/chitta, sulfa and controlled tablets.
