Nihang beaten, woman SHO manhandled in Amritsar clash

Chandigarh, Sep 19 (UNI) A woman police station house officer was allegedly manhandled while trying to rescue a Nihang Sikh who was being assaulted during a confrontation between rival groups in Amritsar, with a video of the incident showing police struggling to pull the injured man away from the crowd. The incident occurred during a protest on Jhabal Road on Friday night, where a group of Nihangs had gathered accusing police of failing to act over an alleged earlier confrontation with supporters of Nihang Major Singh Petewad.
