BJP protest in J&K Assembly forces Omar to withdraw salary hike Bills of legislators, ministers

Srinagar, Sept 29 (UNI) A BJP protest on Tuesday forced Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to withdraw two Bills proposing a hike in the salaries and allowances of the ministers, Ministers of State and members of the Legislature. Incidentally, a House Committee of J&K Assembly headed by BJP MLA Surjit Singh Salathia had approved the proposed increases. A BJP legislator while speaking in the House said the government should focus on providing relief to daily wagers and contractual employees.
