Panchkula, Nov 6 (UNI) The Haryana government on Friday appointed retired IAS officer Arun Kumar Gupta as chairman of the Haryana Electricity Regulatory Commission (HERC) for a term of five years or until he attains the age of 65, whichever is earlier.
According to an order issued by the state Energy Department, Gupta's tenure will begin from the date he takes the oath of office.
The appointment has been made by the Governor of Haryana under Sections 82 and 89 of the Electricity Act, 2003.
