Alld HC stays issuance of appointment letters for 4.5k UP police sub-inspector posts

Prayagraj, Oct 1 (UNI) The Allahabad High Court has stayed the issuance of appointment letters for 4,543 posts under the Uttar Pradesh Police Sub-Inspector Recruitment 2025, with the matter scheduled for hearing on October 5.

The court passed its order on the petitions filed by Shyam Sundar, Kamlesh Yadav, and others, as well as Yash Pandey, along with 44 other candidates, with the matter being heard on Wednesday by a single-judge bench presided over by Justice Anees Kumar Gupta. Senior advocate Ashok Khare, advocates Sanjay Kumar Yadav and Alok Mishra presented their arguments on the petition. The recruitment drive, conducted by the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board, seeks to fill Sub-Inspector posts in the Civil Police and equivalent positions.

The Board issued the recruitment notification on August 12, 2025. Moreover, the recruitment process attracted 15,75,706 applications. The written examination was held in two shifts on March 14 and 15. Around 1,077,000 candidates participated in it, and the results of the written examination were released on May 7. Candidates also raised objections regarding the changed questions, but the recruitment board did not consider them.

Notably, the High Court has now stayed the issuance of appointment letters for the 4,543 posts, with the matter listed for further hearing on October 5.
