Haryana pays Rs 9,880 crore to 2.88 lakh paddy farmers, extends insurance cover to beekeepers

Chandigarh, Nov 6 (UNI) Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Friday said the state government had transferred Rs 9,880 crore to 2.88 lakh farmers against paddy procurement, while highlighting insurance protection of up to Rs 6.25 lakh for beekeepers under the Mukhyamantri Bagwani Bima Yojana. Addressing a press conference here, Saini said 43 lakh metric tonnes of paddy had been procured against arrivals of 48 lakh metric tonnes in the state's grain markets until November 5.
