Punjab Panel to meet on Oct 6 to discuss Akal Takht suggestions on Anti-Sacrilege Law

Chandigarh, Oct 2 (UNI) A seven-member coordination committee constituted by the Punjab government will meet in Chandigarh on October 6 to examine the provisions of the Jaagat Jot Sri Guru Granth Sahib Satkar (Amendment) Act, 2026, and consider suggestions received from Sri Akal Takht Sahib. The meeting, scheduled for noon, will also discuss modalities for coordination with the separate committee constituted by Sri Akal Takht Sahib to examine the legislation, the state government said.
