Punjab: CM Mann seeks urgent movement of 21 lakh tonnes of foodgrain ahead of paddy peak

Chandigarh, Oct 2 (UNI) Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has asked the Centre to urgently move six lakh tonnes of rice and 15 lakh tonnes of wheat out of the state, warning that a storage crunch could disrupt paddy procurement as arrivals gather pace. In a letter to union Food and Public Distribution Minister Pralhad Joshi, Mann sought movement of six lakh tonnes of rice by October 10 and 15 lakh tonnes of wheat during October.
